United v Spurs Preview

Alright let’s get straight to the point. This game is huge. We have seven games left and are one point behind City for 4th place and that coveted Champions League spot. Winning this game is going to be a key to a successful season. We need this.

But one question is what starting 11 will Louis Van Gaal play and how will they set up? Well it’s pretty common knowledge that we will most likely play a 4-2-3-1 which has been a constant since we finally did away with the 5-3-2 last season. But a big question is who will play. Well that really depends on how attacking Van Gaal wants to play and who all is actually fit enough to play possibly a full 90 minutes. We saw Ashley Young have a good outing with the under 21’s earlier this week. However I don’t think that Van Gaal will stray far from the team that beat Everton.

The only real change I see in the line up will be Matteo Darmian moving from the Right to the left and Timothy Fosu-Mensah filling in at right back where he played will well both defensively and on the attack. Part of the reason I see this change being implemented is due to how poor Marco Rojo played last week. However the only time I see Rojo playing today is if Daley Blind isn’t able to go.

Alright so as far as a prediction on how I see the game going. I think this will be a tough game for United. United did manage a Victory over Spurs to start the season off. However that was a much different situation than now. United have had many injuries to deal with, and Spurs haven’t had very many. Spurs in fact have had the emergence of Talents such as Dele Alli and continued emergence of Eric Dier. I think Manchester United will go out and play a good game but I’m not certain they will be able to hold Tottenham scoreless.

United All-Time XI

Manchester United has a long and rich history of being a great club both on and off the pitch. United remains the Worlds biggest and most important club even though the team has been hit by some major road blocks since the departure of Sir Alex, but lets save that for another time. Over the years Manchester United has had many world class players. So i was thinking why not make my first post not be a gloomy post about the current state of the club. So I decided to go ahead and put together my United All-Time starting XI.

When I first thought about putting together an All-Time XI, I wasn’t sure what formation would be good to really get the best possible eleven to represent Manchester United. I ended up choosing to use a 4-3-3. The reason I chose to use the 4-3-3 is because I didn’t want to leave out any players that had to be included. Well without further lets dive right in to my United All-Time XI.

Edwin Van Der Sar

Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand

Gary Neville and Patrice Evra

Paul Scholes and Roy Keane

Sir Bobby Charlton

Ryan Giggs and George Best

Wayne Rooney

Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce, Bryan Robson, Duncan Edwards

Alright this got really tough once I got to the midfield. United is a club with not just a great history but the number of Legends of the game to have played for the club makes this so much harder. Lets hope this leads to a discussion amongst fans.
